A Message From Our Brothers and Sisters at Verizon
Crew Callers Unavailable 4/26/2016 from 5:30pm till 10:30pm
Crew Dispatchers office had to be evacuated tonight in order to fumigate the building. They are expected to return around 10:30pm, also the back up cell phones numbers are not available.
Please use the voicemail numbers to contact them and request a return call.
Flag Assignments
With the weather breaking we are anticipating a increase in outside contractors along our right of ways.
Please report any contractors working without flag protection immediately to the ACD (assitant chief dispatcher) at 201-246-2780 and this includes any equipment with the potential to foul.
Flag assignments keep us all working and need to be protected by SMART-TD members so please protect our work and report unsafe conditions ASAP
Another option is the safety hotline 877-806-8283 or your lines designated safety team member if your concerns are not being addressed by the dispatcher.
Your union representatives are also an option

Uniform Information request
The carrier is preparing to put the uniform supply contract up for bid and we are requesting input from the membership. Requests from the membership will be attached to the criteria attached to the bid, allowing for our voice to be heard. I am asking for feedback on any level of uniform concerns please provide details if possible. Suggestions should be sent to;
- via email sspratt@utulocal60.com
- via text 973-223-8654
Items already under consideration include;
- Overall quality
- Proper measuring/tailoring
- Proper fitting particularly neck size and tapering on shirts
- The availability of brick and mortar locations
- The availability of supplier on site to make alterations and exchanges
- Availability of women’s cut uniforms
- Yard uniform prices and selection.
If members purchase their own uniform components we would like to know the manufacturer or store where purchased and materials involved.
Members are encouraged to take advantage of the online ordering http://www.njtuniforms.com/ (complete instructions are in the division notice), currently the most accurate way to order. It ensures sizes, styles and addresses are correct allowing you to track your order and request return tags. Most importantly there is a record to facilitate disputes with the uniform provider.
At this time the uniform colors or style are not going to be updated but may be in the future. Currently NJ Transit would like to get wearable uniforms that are durable and look professional along with an adequate provider.
Thanks for your help.
