Re: Authorized Maximum Mileage Rate
Decrease – Effective January 1, 2021
Dear Sisters and Brothers:
The Internal Revenue Service issued the 2021 standard mileage rates used to calculate the deductible costs of operating an automobile for business. Beginning on January 1, 2021 the standard rates for the use of an automobile will be 56.0 cents per mile for business miles driven.
Therefore, I am authorizing automobile mileage allowance consistent with the maximum rate set by the Internal Revenue Service (Notice 2021-02), effective January 1, 2021. The automobile rate will be decreased by one and one-half cents, from 57.5 cents per mile to 56.0 cents per mile.
Fraternally yours,
Jeremy R. Ferguson

ATTENTION NJ TRANSIT EMPLOYEES
Working closely with the New Jersey Department of Health, NJ TRANSIT continues to be encouraged by news of a safe and effective coronavirus vaccine on the horizon. As you may know, frontline NJ TRANSIT employees are being prioritized by the State in the distribution of the vaccine. As such, the vaccine will likely be available first to frontline employees, followed soon afterwards by corporate employees. NJ TRANSIT plans to distribute this vaccine, to both frontline and corporate employees, as quickly as possible.
To gauge employee interest in taking a coronavirus vaccine, we have created a brief, three-minute survey, and ask ALL employees to please take this survey at: https://www.research.net/r/NJTVac
We are excited by this powerful new tool to keep our employees safe and healthy, and believe the vaccine will add yet another layer of safety to the numerous measures already in place, particularly our aggressive and extensive cleaning and disinfecting protocols. If you have any questions regarding the survey, please call the NJ TRANSIT employee hotline, staffed 24/7, at 1-888-890-0729.
Thank you.
As of 7:30PM tonight 12/16/2020 NJ Transit will shut down the rail system, they will re-evaluate the situation on the morning of 12/17/2020 for when and what capacity it will be restored.
Management has instructed supervision at all locations to ensure all employees are provided transportation to their on duty point.
WAD tonight as instructed by the supervision on site, or the ACD, all employees are asked to report at the regular on duty time and location for your assignment tomorrow 12/17/20 and WAD.
As always please drive safety and follow local recommendations for travel, if it is not safe to travel back to work, please do not, and notify the crew caller or chief dispatcher.
