NJ TRANSIT Health Advisory (COVID-19)
May 14, 2021 By
ATTENTION EMPLOYEES
As you may have heard, yesterday the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that, “Vaccinated Americans May Go Without Masks in Most Places.” This is of course good news, and another positive sign that we are coming out on the other side of this pandemic. HOWEVER, this does not mean NJ TRANSIT employees are currently permitted to go mask-less most times while at work – except where allowed under NJ TRANSIT Policy 3.36A – for a number of important reasons:
While vaccinations are clearly moving trends in the right direction, we are not out of the woods yet. Eighty of our colleagues are currently positive for COVID-19, and last week, we lost our 22nd employee to this deadly virus. That is why, until you hear otherwise, all NJ TRANSIT employees MUST CONTINUE TO WEAR MASKS, except where allowed under NJ TRANSIT Policy 3.36A.
Thank you for your cooperation.
