Employee Masking Update

ATTENTION EMPLOYEES

Based on updated State guidance, NJ TRANSIT office spaces and buildings, other than public transportation stations, will be mask optional for all employees, beginning Monday, March 14. This means employees may certainly continue to wear a mask in the office if they so choose, but will no longer be required to do so.

Please also note that indoor capacity restrictions in office spaces, vehicles, and within indoor stations and waiting rooms are no longer required, although we ask employees to please continue to take reasonable steps to limit crowding when possible.

Although many restrictions are being lifted, masks are still required, at all times, for all frontline, customer-facing employees on vehicles and within indoor stations and waiting rooms through at least April 18, 2022, as the Transportation Security Administration recently extended its mask mandate through that date.

In addition, the Federal Railroad Administration’s Emergency Order No. 32 – which requires masking at transportation hubs – is still in effect. As a result, NJ TRANSIT employees working at rail facilities, including the MMC, must continue to wear a mask inside those facilities.

Finally, there are still certain situations where the CDC recommends masking. Please click here for the latest CDC guidance.

BULLETIN CORRECTIONS

Attention All Members,

As you all know the Carrier made a mistake by advertising assignments for Friday New Years Eve/Day. We all know this caused another rollover. We were able to have the Carrier agree to put everyone whose assignment should not have been advertised, back to their respective assignments prior to that bulletin. If anyone’s assignment now works Friday New Years Eve/Day that will be considered a One Day Assignment Change and that member will have the choice to remain on the assignment or receive a pick. If any member was outbid for their assignment they owned prior to that bulletin that member will be put back to that assignment.

RETRO PAYMENTS

Attention All Members,

Retro payments were made today. Printouts are available on the Self Service portal. Please note if you’re out of service you will not receive the retro payment until your status is changed to active.

BULLETIN 50-2021T

Good afternoon Brothers and Sisters:

Bulletin 50 will be released no later than tomorrow Saturday 12/18/21 by 12p.m. The Union has agreed to work with the Carrier on this issue, because of the mistakes caused as a result of the last two bulletins. We are trying to stop the bleeding from the mistakes made, which have been at the detriment of our members.  This is just the first step of correcting the errors, but we didn’t want the errors to compound. You will see some pertinent changes in this bulletin if done correctly, and more changes will, should happen in the upcoming days.

As always we will keep the membership posted with accurate information, but only when that information is solidified.

Thank you all for you patience and trust!

Fraternally,

Jerome
