Brothers and Sisters:
Good afternoon. The governor has implemented Executive Order 125 requiring the wearing of masks by commuters and our members when utilizing and working on NJ Transits public transportation.
The wearing of masks is imperative to keeping ourselves, the commuters, and all employees that utilize our trains to get back and forth to work safe. The wearing of masks helps protect our families as well. If you cannot wear the mask because of a medical condition, please have your personal physician supply you with a note stating as much. I will continue to work with the Carrier on enforcement of the Executive Order in regards to the Commuters, but I need all of our members to adhere to the Executive Order. As Essential Employees and professionals, it behooves all of us to act accordingly, and protect one another. We fought hard to get the masks and other PPE to protect our members. I ask all of you to please follow the protocol set by the EO 125.
Fraternally yours and in solidarity.
Jerome

Quarantine/Self-Quarantine/School Closures
Brothers and Sisters: When a member is either quarantined by a medical physician, instructed to self-quarantine by a medical physician, sent home by NJ Transit supervision because a member displays symptoms of a illness that emulates the flu or Coronavirus, or when a members is affected by their child or children’s school closure, please Mark Off in the following fashion.
Medical Policy
Brothers and Sisters: The following is in response to my inquiry regarding members having to report to Medical Services when out of service medically.
“In anticipation of the increased social distancing recommendations, Medical Services has already implemented protocol changes whereby employees can do their 30 day follow-ups via telephone interview. This practice will remain in effect until the guidelines for social distancing are lifted, at which time the existing Medical Policy guidelines will be in effect.”
