The goal is to confirm your dependents particularly that you and your spouse/domestic partner are still together. Any and all personal information should be redacted this includes financial, personal, and account numbers. What they need in addition to birth, adoption, marriage certificates is something recent that establishes you and your spouse/domestic partner are living together. If you do not send the first page of a 1040 form you will need to send two other documents.
I’ve attached what I personally sent (I changed the name and address here because it’s a public site) via the online submission, it was approved in three days.
