NJT VACCINE CLINICS NOW OPEN TO ALL NJT EMPLOYEES

TO RECEIVE A COVID-19 VACCINE

OPTION 1

NJ TRANSIT-PROVIDED VACCINES NOW AVAILABLE FOR ALL NJ TRANSIT EMPLOYEES!

We have available appointments this week at our Newton Avenue administration building in Camden and at our General Office Building in Maplewood for all active NJ TRANSIT employees!

OPTION 2

 

NJ TRANSIT PARTNERS WITH WALGREENS TO OFFER

COVID VACCINES TO ALL EMPLOYEES

 

Through a partnership with Walgreens, NJ TRANSIT will offer COVID-19 vaccines to ALL interested employees on SATURDAY, APRIL 3rd, at our FERRY STREET FACILITY, located at 703 Ferry Street, Newark, NJ 07105.

Walgreens will be administering the Johnson & Johnson vaccine on this date.  The Johnson & Johnson vaccine does not require a second dose appointment. 

If interested, you MUST register AND fill out the attached consent form before your first  appointment.  This form MUST be brought with you to your appointment!

You will need to show your NJ TRANSIT ID card and your insurance card at your appointment. However, you will not bear any out-of-pocket expenses to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

 

OPTION 3

 

UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL PARTNERSHIP

 

NJ TRANSIT has also partnered with University Hospital to offer vaccination appointments for ALL NJ TRANSIT employees. You must use the following two-step verification process in order for University Hospital to verify that you are an active NJ TRANSIT employee:

  • Using your NJ TRANSIT e-mail address, e-mail University Hospital at NJTransit@uhnj.orgIn your e-mail, indicate your interest in the program and include your NJ TRANSIT ID number and your preferred telephone number.
  • University Hospital staff will then call you directly to review information and set up your appointment.

You will need to show your government-issued photo ID and your insurance card at your appointment. However, you will not bear any out-of-pocket expenses to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

 

OPTION 4

 

Employees may also make an appointment for vaccination through New Jersey’s COVID-19 Vaccine Scheduling System or at a State- or county-approved site.

Vaccination Information

Just an update on questions we are receiving from members on the COVID Vaccine 

Q- Do we get paid if we lose time from work for the vaccine? 

A- No, the carrier is not compensating employees for lost time due to getting the vaccine 

Q- Will I be charged an occurrence if I mark off to get the COVID vaccine? 

A- No, if you are marking off to get vaccinated they should Mark Off Personal Business, and email jjohnson@utulocal60.com or fax to the office 9735277019 a copy of their vaccination card.  We already have an understanding with Mr. Sincaglia that members will not be charged a occurrence for getting vaccinated. 

Q- Are we getting paid if we receive a doctors note and are required by that directive to quarantine either close contact or a positive test?

A- Yes, see the weekly posts on utulocal60.com on what current NJ Transit policy is and what steps you need to take, this is updated weekly  

Q- I have been in close contact with someone who tested positive what should I do? I have received the Vaccine and am sick what should I do? I feel sick and have COVID symptoms what should I do? My coworker is positive what should I do? A family member tested positive or is sick with symptoms what should I do?

A- Call your physician,(your officers can not give you medical advice) if you can not get your personal doctor download the My Horizon App Download – Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey,  follow their directions, then call the COVID Hotline (888) 890-0729, if you are directed to mark off, call the crew caller and mark off, make sure you let them know the COVID status you are assigned by the hotline.   

Q- I was not paid for my time out COVID, who do I contact?

A- You can submit on local 60 site Payroll Shortage Form (utulocal60.com) or contact Lisa Bell at lbelle@njtransit.com

Trainmen Uniform Ordering Procedure for 2021
Trainmen will order their 2021 uniform from Action Uniform Company
Trainmen are entitled to $550.00 towards uniform pieces of their choice.
• Trainmen must order either Revenue Uniform items OR Yard Uniform items. Items from both categories may not be combined.
• Trainmen must place their entire order at one time.
• All uniform orders are to be submitted no later than November 30, 2021.

NEW COVID-19 VACCINE APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE IN CAMDEN

TO ALL NJ TRANSIT EMPLOYEES

FOR A LIMITED TIME, NJ TRANSIT has secured COVID-19 vaccine appointments for employees at the community-based vaccination site at the BB&T Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey.

In addition to the vaccines administered by NJ TRANSIT to frontline, public-facing employees at the Newton Avenue Administration Building in Camden, this new option is available to ALL NJ TRANSIT employees, but appointments are only available today through Friday, March 19.

If interested, please e-mail bbtvaccine@njtransit.com as soon as possible but no later than 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 17 and include the following information:

  • First and last name
  • Employee ID number
  • Preferred phone number
  • Date of birth
  • Home city 
  • Race

This information is required by the vaccination site for statewide statistical tracking.

You will then be contacted by the CamCare Call Center or a FEMA representative to schedule an appointment. Names received first will be called first. Although you may not recognize the number, please answer as the caller may be a representative from CamCare or FEMA.

Sending an e-mail to the address above is the preferred method to provide your information, although if you do not have access to e-mail, you may call the NJ TRANSIT COVID-19 hotline, staffed 24/7, at 1-888-890-0729. The response time may be delayed if you call the hotline as opposed to e-mailing. The e-mail address above will no longer be active after 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Vaccine availability South Jersey area

At last nights meeting with the NJ Governors office on COVID Vaccine, we were informed there may be available doses in the Camden NJ area. 

Members who would like to be vaccinated and would be willing to travel to that area email GC Johnson at jjohnson@utulocal60.com your name, employee number and a contact number (the facility will contact you to schedule an appointment) 

We are working on getting availability in Northern NJ, and will update when we have that information.

NJ Transit is also working with University Hospital to get employees vaccinated, see below

We were also told NJ Transit will have additional vaccines available next week at Maplewood and Camden Medical facilities employees can register here; 

Next week, NJ TRANSIT expects to receive an additional supply of COVID-19 vaccines from NJDOH. As before, only active, frontline, public-facing NJ TRANSIT employees – Police Officer, Bus Operator, Conductor, Assistant Conductor, Locomotive Engineer, Customer Services Representative, or other public-facing employees – will be permitted to receive the vaccine here at NJ TRANSIT.

Informational Zoom Meeting with NJ Governors office on COVID Vaccine

There will be an informational session available on Zoom for vaccine questions, please pre-register if you plan on attending, see below for message from the Deputy Chief of Staff  

 

I hope this finds you well and staying healthy.  To you and your members we send our continued admiration and appreciation for all that you do everyday especially during a pandemic.  And we mourn the loss of far too many of your members. 

I wanted to reach out on a few items for your consideration:

  • We would like to offer to host an information session for your members to answer questions regarding the vaccine – we will get a doctor on to answer questions which would be the focus of the session.
