ATTENTION EMPLOYEES:

Today, we would like to remind you of the critical importance of getting vaccinated – for your health and the heath of others, including your fellow employees.

In the words of Governor Murphy, “Vaccines work. They are proving more than 99.9% effective in preventing people from contracting the virus, 99.99% effective in keeping people out of the hospital, and 99.999% effective in keeping people alive.” Please see the following articles:

TD Bank Direct deposit issues

Good morning all,

Looks like TD bank is having issues, so Rail is affected today.

If you receive a call from an employee with TD account, especially Rail, advise them –

  1. TD seems to be experiencing issues.
  2. Today is pay date (all day), so they can call back tomorrow if they still have an issue, otherwise they will receive their DD today.

Alternate text

Colleagues –

As we approach the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, we would like to pay tribute to all the NJ TRANSIT employees who played a role on that day and the days that followed. One of the ways we would like to do this is by compiling video tributes featuring your personal reflections, which we can share on our social media channels.

Many of us have stories to tell. Where you were, what you were doing and how you responded when our nation and our customers faced such a tragic event. Whether you responded to Ground Zero, helped to evacuate customers with care and comfort, supported the arrival of evacuees at Hoboken Terminal, transported emergency responders or supplies, planned alternative service or more, your actions demonstrated our resolve to rise to the occasion under extremely difficult circumstances and helped NJ TRANSIT and the region respond to and recover from this tragic event.

We also want to hear from current employees who may not have been working at NJ TRANSIT on 9/11, but have a personal experience to share about that day.

There are two ways you can participate:

  1. If you would like to film yourself, simply record a message (up to 1 minute long) using your phone or other video camera and tell us your story. Be sure to include:
    1. Your name

    2. Your current job title or if you are a retiree

    3. Your job title on 9/11/2001

  2.  If you would like assistance filming, send an email to njtphoto@njtransit.com to schedule a time for our team to come record you.

If you need help deciding what to say in your recording, here are some questions you may choose to answer:

For NJ TRANSIT employees on 9/11

  • State your name and tell us where you were working as an NJ TRANSIT employee at the time.
  • What did you specifically do to support NJ TRANSIT on that day or the days that followed?
  • What motivated you to respond the way that you did?
  • Please feel free to share any other personal stories related to 9/11 and how it affected you.

For colleagues who were not working for NJ TRANSIT on 9/11:

  • State your name and tell us where you were working at the time or where you were that morning as the tragic events unfolded.
  • If you provided any support through your employer or through your community, please share what you did and what motivated you to respond.
  • Please feel free to share any other personal stories related to 9/11 and how it affected you.

Finally, if you have any photos of yourself when you were performing any of this work, please feel free to send us the pictures for possible use in the video tribute.

Please send your videos and photos to njtphoto@njtransit.com by 8/20/21.

Thank you for all you did on 9/11 and thank you in advance for sharing your stories with us!
