ATTENTION EMPLOYEES
Today, Governor Murphy announced that all state employees – including all NJ TRANSIT employees – will be required to show proof of vaccination against the virus that causes COVID-19 by October 18, 2021, or to undergo regular testing for COVID-19. Details of this testing process, as well as the process for submitting to NJ TRANSIT proof of vaccination status, will be communicated at a later date. Aligned with this new order, the State has extended the date by which all state employees must return to the workplace full time. This new date will also be Monday, October 18, 2021. As a result, NJ TRANSIT will extend Phase 2 of its return to the workplace plan – where employees are required to come into the workplace at least two times a week – through Friday, October 15. Phase 3 of NJ TRANSIT’s return to the workplace plan – where employees are required to come back to the workplace full time, five days a week – will now begin on October 18, 2021.
