We are asking any member who is observing a relief day, currently not working, willing to use PTO or has time available on your break to join GC Johnson by attending events this week that are critical to our craft.

The Sovereignty Bill A4689 (NJT) is in committee on Thursday the 16th at 10 am.

We are hoping everyone who can attend the hearing please do so, this is critical to our craft. Be sure to wear your union gear. Also it’s not to late to call your representative https://www.njleg.state.nj.us/legislativepub/contact.asp

New Safety Eye-wear Program

To all Rail Employees,

We are excited to announce that we have recently contracted with Hoya Optical as our vender for our new prescription safety eyewear program!!

Some changes to the program include a new listing of frames and a new list of eye care providers however as usual, all NJ TRANSIT Rail Employees will be eligible for two pairs (one clear pair and one tinted pair, or two clear pairs) of prescription safety eyewear.

Since this is a brand new program, all employees are eligible effective immediately for this program regardless of previous purchases during 2019.

Temporary (90 day) Agreement on Supplemental List

The General Committee has entered into a temporary agreement on supplemental list modifications (Rule 20) with the carrier (NJ Transit).

This is a temporary agreement and can be modified or worked into a new permanent agreement that would be voted on by the entire membership.

We have tried to incorporate what membership asked for in the survey, and will look for ways to improve based on your response.

The agreement is effective the April 14th and will expire July 14th 2019
