Happy Mother’s Day to the mothers of SMART-TD Local 60.
On this Mother’s Day, we honor and thank all the mothers within our union family. Whether you are working on the rails or supporting loved ones who keep the railroad running, your strength, dedication, and sacrifice do not go unnoticed.
Railroad work demands long hours, time away from home, and unwavering commitment. Mothers in our union meet those challenges every day while continuing to care for families and communities with resilience and pride. Your hard work helps keep both the railroad and our families moving forward.
Today, we celebrate you and express our deep appreciation for everything you do. On behalf of the SMART-TD Local 60 officers, thank you—and we wish you a safe, restful, and well‑deserved Mother’s Day.
Fraternally,
Jerome C. Johnson

Message from GC
Good afternoon Brothers and Sisters,
I want to clarify the Carrier’s notification regarding the recent bulletins and work assignments.
Everyone will continue working their Regular Assignment as listed in Bulletin No. 5. If you bid an assignment in Bulletin No. 5 and it was awarded in Bulletin No. 6, then the assignment awarded in Bulletin No. 6 is your official assignment.
Any assignments listed in Bulletin No. 6 do not exist. Bulletin No. 7 was canceled.
The assignments posted in Bulletin No. 8 should only reflect:
Vacancies created by the awards in Bulletin No. 6
Any other legitimate reason an assignment must be reposted for bid
Members should report to duty at their normal sign‑up time and work as directed.
We emphasized to the Carrier that our assignments are based on sign‑up time and compensation, not on matching our assignments to the engineers’ schedules. For example, LB‑1 CO/AC does not have to work LB‑1 Engineer simply because the designation looks similar. This situation was not caused by us, and field managers do not have the authority to place members wherever it is most convenient for them.
I will be meeting with the DGM on Monday morning to continue this discussion. The Carrier is fully aware that multiple claims will be filed on behalf of all members for violations of our CBA over the past three weeks.
Members should submit Time Cards daily for the earnings of their assignments. If you work more than the assignment is advertised to earn, submit a Time Card for the full amount. This process will remain in place until the completion of the Portal Bridge track installation, which is tentatively scheduled to end on March 15th.
Please do not go by SCAT the assignments are not in the system. Please follow the runsheet.
Fraternally,
Jerome
Good morning brothers and sisters,
The Division Notice issued yesterday does not properly reflect the requirements for our members. Please disregard that notice and continue to sign up as you did prior to the portal bridge bulletin. All members should report and work as directed.
Fraternally,
Jerome Johnson
